We love to profile real people alongside the Carry On Watson brand to help encapsulate what it means to ‘Carry On’ in life, work and travel. Introducing Jodie Whiley, a Francophile, lover of travel and great skincare.

WHAT PAYS FOR YOUR ADVENTURES (AKA, WHAT’S YOUR DAY JOB)?

Being the National Education and Sales Manager for a luxury skincare brand, my role takes me away not only nationally on a regular basis, but also often internationally.

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE ADVENTURE?

Everytime I travel to France, it creates memorable moments for me. Whether I am on my own wondering, or with a group out in the countryside, or with a great friend sharing a bottle of bubbles rooftop in Nice, I love to immerse myself taking part in local pastimes like eating a meal in a local restaurant, exploring shops in side streets or just sitting watching how the locals live gives me a huge amount of pleasure and appreciation of their world and the cultural nuances of France.

IF YOU HAD AN UNLIMITED BUDGET AND 10 DAYS AT YOUR DISPOSAL, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

My ultimate holiday would be to the Northern Lights, brave the cold and wait for the magnificent lights to appear. It is a spectical that at this stage I can only imagine. Following that I would head to the Maldieves for the sun, salt and sand to warm the soul and for some total relaxation.

WHEN YOU TRAVEL, WHAT DON’T YOU LEAVE HOME WITH OUT?

My toiletries!! I never leave home without fantastic skincare that helps to protect my skin from the varying environments when traveling. I also never leave home without my laptop for business, my Ipad for my leisure reading and a comfy jumper to relax in.

WHERE ARE YOU PLANNING YOUR NEXT TRIP?

So far, my next trip is back to France for work, where I’ll also tack on a couple of extra days to find a new place to explore and discover. I’m also planning a trip to the South Island of New Zealand with my husband to check out the stunning landscapes. Finally we are also planning a roadtrip to the east coast of USA with a pit stop in Maui on the way back.
