Putting The Glam Back Into Travel

By Monisha Iswaran

Being a frequent traveler doesn’t have to mean constantly wearing yoga pants, lack of style or carting around a bulky bag filled with beauty products in order to look good. It’s completely possible to look glam while travelling without having to inconvenience yourself one bit! Read on to find out how you can put the glam back into travel:

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail!
Preparation is key - particularly when you are setting off on a long trip. If you plan all your outfits out in advance, you’ll definitely be able to look gorgeous no matter what your journey throws at you! Not to mention preparing in advance will ease your mind, and you’ll feel calmer when setting off on your trip. Make sure to have planned for different scenarios - changes in the weather, a variety of activities etc. For example, if you are travelling with little ones, you’ll want to make sure you have the right clothes for running around and playing as you are bound to be frequenting parks and playgrounds in your downtime.

Sleep Is Not For The Weak
When you’re on holiday (especially if you’re travelling in a tour group), it can be tempting to cram tons of activities into your days and nights, skimping on sleep so you can explore exciting new places. However, if you want to look glam while travelling you are going to need your beauty sleep. You might not be able to get a full 8 hours, but if you dip below 5 or 6 hours sleep you’re in dangerous territory when it comes to eye bags and generally looking drained. Sleep isn’t for the weak - it’s for the travellers who want to look gorgeous while seeing the world!

You Can’t Go Wrong With A Red Lipstick
You may not be able to pack all your most stylish pieces, but there are a few key things you can pack that will amp up your look in moments. One such example is bold red lipstick, which is sure to brighten up any outfit and add a level of sophistication to whatever you are wearing. Always make sure to have a classic little black dress on standby, even if you don’t think you’ll need it - you never know when you might have an impromptu date with a mysterious traveller or if you might decide to head out for a boogie with the girls. Having a couple of scarves and accessories to switch up your look is always a plus, and a much lighter alternative to carrying around alternative footwear options.

Vacation Doesn’t Mean A Holiday From Skin Care
You might be on holiday from work, but your skin care regime shouldn’t be taking a break! Packing a couple of face masks is a good addition to your normal skin care products, especially if you’re going to be spending a lot of time on planes, which are notorious for drying out your skin if you don’t take precautions. Being in new climates, different to that of your hometown, can also negatively affect your skin - so you’re going to need your army of face washes, toners, moisturizers and of course sunscreen to keep you glowing and glam throughout your trip.

Pack Your Style Tools Stylishly
Now that you’ve decided what your taking, the final step is the perfect travel bag. Invest in good quality, stylish luggage as you’re going to be using it for years to come. Walking through the airport pulling your glammed up bag, you’re sure to feel way more put together!

So there you have it - travelling doesn’t have to be filled with dry shampoo, the same outfits over and over again and feeling like you need a fashion intervention by the time you return home. You can be just as glam on the road (or plane) as you are on a day to day basis!
